What Does this ultrasound Result Mean?

Right Adnexa: The right ovary measures 20 x 20 x 23mm. There are two echogenic foci within the ovary which measure 4 mm and 6mm in diameter. Left Adnexa: The left ovary measures 41 x 26 x 30 mm including an anechoic cyst measuring 21mm in diameter. Echogenic focus measures 5mm. I go see my OB/GYN doctor this Friday. I am 43 years old. I have been pregnant 4 times and had 2 pregnancies that I had live births, and 2 miscarriages. I have suffered from ovarian cysts since I was about 16 yrs old. I am wondering if it would be out of the question for me to ask my doctor to do a hysterectomy, since I am again in extreme pain from the cysts I have, or if they just take out the ovaries?

Hi,

You are already 40 plus & you have two children. So there should be no hesitation in removing ovaries with uterus to get rid of one troublesumcyst (more than 10mm in size) & also get rid of your tendency to form ovarian cysts.

Followed by hormone supplements to maintain health.
